Personal
skills are a must if you want to be a successful sales lady.
Unfortunately many people try sales and would be great at it
but they get burned out because their approach was
wrong.
Before you begin, I want you to
look at yourself and outline who you really are. The other
important step to be a successful sales lady is to know where
you are going. You have to have a process in selling. You have
to be able to handle the rejections. You have to be able not to
obsess over the angry client. If you want it go get it! Have a
goal and know that it may take you a day or years but know
where you want to be heading!
DEVELOP A PURPOSE
Why are you doing this? Is it to
help your husband will the finances? Are you doing this to put
money back for the kids college fund? Is it to buy a new car?
Develop a sense of purpose. Counseling with clients, I tell
them to find what they want and put a picture on the
refrigerator or their briefcase.
KNOW THE PRODUCT
I believe you need to know the
product inside out. You have to believe in your product. If you
are selling wrinkle cream that will work in 10 days, you have
to express that emotion in your presentation. Speak from the
heart and you will be getting sales.
WHAT DO THEY NEED
Find out what they need from you.
Can you help this person? If they are trying to buy a product
from you and you know it isn’t going to work. Suggest another
item. People love honesty and they love to be heard. I suggest
keeping a Client Card. If they have grandchildren write it on
the card. If you know they are traveling people... The next
time you see them talk to them about their hobbies, places they
have been to. Connect with your clients.
Remember you are the most
important part of this process. Don’t limit yourself. Build
trust and connect and makes sales!
